World Rivers Day & World Environmental Health Day – quote from Ravichandran Purushothaman, President, Danfoss India

“Reports suggest that around 80% of India’s water is severely polluted because of direct dumping of raw sewage, silt, garbage, and highly toxic industrial discharges into rivers and lakes. A stellar example of this is the pollution of the Ganga river due to growing urbanisation and industrialization along its banks. This has worsened the current national challenge of providing clean and safe drinking water to all citizens. This problem is not unique to India; it is estimated that by 2025, two-thirds of the world’s population may face water shortages.

Recognizing the imminent water crisis, Danfoss has invested greatly in circular thinking and building energy-efficient solutions to promote water conservation, as well as wastewater management. From desalination via reverse osmosis, to traditional water production, distribution and wastewater treatment, Danfoss is a forerunner in enabling a water secure tomorrow, with its energy efficient and sustainable solutions for the water industry. So, on this World Rivers Day & World Environmental Health Day, it is important that we come together to conserve our precious resources like water, which support our lives and ecosystem, by adopting sustainable ways of living which do not harm our environment.”
