Project Story:

With the dawn of globalization, private sector bloomed exponentially. Thus, a workspace that matches the changing aspects of the contemporary work ethos is deemed necessary. The blueprint of the expanse must be impulsive, inspiring and relevant congruently. With a crystal-clear set of requirements from the client, this 6000 sq.ft. office space, located in Ghaziabad, was set up to achieve a minimal yet dynamic ambience that triggers a sense of motivation amongst the employees. With a myriad hue of colours, tints and shades inspired by the client’s business of colourful industrial belts, AG’s office came out to be a melange of clean lines and distinctive material. Keeping in mind the client’s brief, the architect concocted a layout blending office ethos with an ingenuine finesse of commercial design.

The overall office space is divided into 3 floors, where the ground floor makes for a reception and waiting area with a minimalistic design scheme. The floor also encompasses meeting rooms and other administrative departments to meet the requirements of footfall of about 50 visitors a day.

Moving onto the first floor, the inception itself serves as the showstopper of entire workspace. With the juxtaposition of a tantalizing feature wall contriving a customised radiant glass art and inky wainscoting done with multiple horizontal grooves, the area grants a chic contemporary sophistication. The floating ceiling made of mineral wool baffles exemplifies the phrase “orange is the new black” and bestows a zestful and eye-pleasing experience for the visitors. Same ceiling design is incorporated in the technical department opposite this area. With a spectrum of colours inculcated on the walls, the owners’ cabins located adjacent to the technical department is also in complete compliance with the vibrant colour scheme of the rest of the office. The wainscoting incorporated here adds in an elegant spirit to the cabins. Moving to the conference room, thewall panelling done here encloses soft materials with raw finishes in order to confer onto acoustics and glossy ceramic coated glass work that focuses on sheer grace. The other conference room’s walls are inlaid with continuous chevron pattern and wainscoting with horizontal grooves running throughout the room.

Further, the design meanders the patrons to the second floor i.e., the workspaces that are pivoted around creating a chromatic ambience and ethnic yellow, grey and white interiors. The cabins outlined on this floor are dedicated to the owners’ sons. To give their sons a befitting welcome to the corporate world, their cabins were fabricatedto motivate them so that they explore the nuances in business and with the agenda of granting complete independence to the gen-next.

The principle of the client to work closely with all the departments of sales, marketing and customer care, directed the designer to outline operations derived workspace which rotated around the functional regime associated with the said departments. The notion was also to envisage an environment to nurture the office culture and employee communication by keeping the design open, without any visual barriers. Thus, this workspace becomes a coalescence of a formal office ethos blended finely with streaks of colour to supplement the design with vibrant vitality.
