Jindal Aluminium’s journery stands as a testament to what can be achieved through vision, integrity and an enduring commitment to excellence.
Marking its 56th Inception Day, Jindal Aluminium Limited celebrates a remarkable journey defined by vision, resilience and industry leadership. Founded in 1968 and incorporated in 1970 by Padma Bhushan Dr Sitaram Jindal and currently led by his grandson, Pragun Jindal Khaitan, the organisation has evolved into a cornerstone of India’s downstream aluminium manufacturing sector. What began as a bold industrial vision has, over more than five decades, grown into a legacy built on trust, innovation and consistent excellence.
From its earliest years, Jindal Aluminium has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to quality and precision. Today, it stands as India’s largest manufacturer of aluminium extruded products and the second-largest producer of aluminium flat-rolled products. This dual leadership position reflects not only scale but also the depth of engineering expertise and the ability to cater to diverse, high-performance industries. With a turnover of approximately ₹5,500 crore and a workforce exceeding 4,000 employees, the company continues to expand its influence while staying rooted in its founding values.
A significant contributor to this growth has been its robust manufacturing infrastructure. With three strategically located plants in Bengaluru, Dabaspet and Bhiwadi, Jindal Aluminium operates with a combined production capacity of 2.55 lakh metric tonnes across extrusion and flat-rolled products. These facilities are supported by integrated value-added capabilities such as fabrication, powder coating and anodising, enabling the company to deliver end-to-end engineered solutions. Notably, two of its three plants run entirely on renewable energy, reinforcing a strong commitment to sustainable and responsible manufacturing.
Over the years, Jindal Aluminium has aligned itself with evolving industry needs and national priorities. As India advances in clean energy, electric mobility and advanced manufacturing, aluminium continues to emerge as a material of the future, with the company playing a key role across aerospace, defence, robotics and AI-led infrastructure.
Its distinction as the only company in India to hold both AS 9100D Aerospace and NADCAP (Heat Treating) certifications highlights its ability to meet stringent global standards. This is complemented by key certifications such as ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, and PED by HSB Global Standards, UK, reflecting a strong commitment to quality, sustainability and safety. The company’s excellence is further validated by recognitions, including Corporate Sustainability Champion of the Year 2025, ICONIC Brand of the Year 2023, and Brand of the Year 2024, reinforcing its credibility as a future-ready industry leader.
Strategic expansion has remained a defining pillar of the company’s growth journey. In 2021, the acquisition of the Bhiwadi assets of Indo Alusys Industries Limited, backed by a ₹400 crore investment, marked a significant milestone, enhancing extrusion capacity by nearly 40% compared to pre-acquisition levels. Over the years, this strategic move has proven its value, strengthening production capabilities, reinforcing operational credibility, and contributing meaningfully to regional economic development through sustained employment generation.
With an estimated 25% share of the domestic aluminium extrusion market, Jindal Aluminium continues to maintain a strong leadership position despite intense competition from established industry players. Its global footprint is equally noteworthy, with exports reaching over 55 countries and contributing 10 to 12% of total revenue. This international presence reflects the company’s ability to meet diverse market requirements while upholding consistent quality standards.
As the Indian aluminium industry continues its upward trajectory, driven by increasing demand, Jindal Aluminium is well-positioned to lead the next phase of growth. Its legacy is not just one of scale, but of purpose, innovation and a forward-looking approach that embraces both technological advancement and sustainability.
On this 56th Inception Day, the celebration is as much about honouring a proud past as it is about shaping a dynamic future. Jindal Aluminium’s journey stands as a testament to what can be achieved through vision, integrity and an enduring commitment to excellence.
